The Lake Cumberland 14u softball team is back to back state champions after defeating Lewis County 12-2 for the state title on Thursday.

The team, featuring many Russell County players, advances to the Central Regionals in Pendleton, Indiana on Friday, July 19th at 3 pm against Michigan.

The team produced 27 hits that combined for 29 runs while allowing only 2.

Tarryn Reynolds and Braelyn Davis combined for 16 strikeouts.

Please come out Saturday, July 13th and help support the team at their car wash at Minit Mart in Jamestown from 8:00-2:00. All proceeds will go towards travel expenses to the regional tournament.

The Russell Rays will be hosting the annual LCSA Championship Meet this coming Saturday, July 13.  The summer season culminating meet will bring 300 plus swimmers to the Russell County Natatorium. The doors will open at 6:30am and the meet is scheduled to start at 9:00am.

The fastest 16 swimmers in events being swam from ages 4 years old up-to 18 will advance to finals later in the day where the 2019 LCSA Champion will be crowned.

Please come out and support all of your local swimmers from the Russell Rays and Lakewood Marlins.
