A juvenile was shot Wednesday afternoon while driving an ATV on Gentry Mill Road in neighboring Adair County, according to the Kentucky State Police.
Troopers from Post 15 responded to the incident just before 5 pm Wednesday and the preliminary investigation shows that Jamey Neat, age 45, of Columbia, pursued the juvenile driving the ATV and discharged a firearm in the victim’s direction, striking him in the back and the leg. The victim was transported by a personal vehicle to T.J. Sampson Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Neat was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment 1st degree and assault 2nd degree. He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
The incident remains under investigation by Detective Nick Davis.
